MARGINALIZED YOUTH COMMISSION
Our centres for Marginalised youth are doing enormous service through their multi faceted activities. They network with the government through the Childline schemes and missing child search web sites. They have moved from works for street youth to initiatives for prevention of runaways. They are supported very well by the various government departments like the Welfare Department, the Police Department, HumanResourceMinistryetc… The Collectors of the four districts where we are present are very appreciative of our work and are willing to support and cooperate in the prevention of runaways. A number of citizen forums formed in the four districts show that it has become a corporate social responsibility. We are proud that our centres have moved them all in this Herculean task. Steps are taken to organize the unorganized labourers through the Mother Theresa Unorganised labourers union initiated by our centres. About 50 slum youth clubs have been formed with a scope of bringing about human right sensitivity among them. Children parliaments and youth parliaments are bringing about social consciousness and instilling leadership qualities with a sense of commitment to the people.
